This is an issue that I would like to keep a close eye on. I personally feel the state should have the power to maintain environmental regulations within their borders. President Trump’s administration is definitly showing traits reflective of The Tragedy of The Commons. I think that New York will win in court and Trump’s suspension of the clean water act will be uplifted. The state has made to great of an effort to protect their wetlands and clean water supply. The fact that Trump’s suspension affects New York economically could be a factor that ultimately helps them in court because it allows dumping which destroys their streams and ecosystem.
